Raja News is an ultra-conservative, religious, pro-government news site owned by journalist Fatemeh Rajabi, who is Gholam-Hossein Elham’s wife. Hossein-Elham is a lawyer and member of the Guardian Council, as well as a spokesperson and advisor to president Mahmood Ahmadinejad. Fatemeh Rajabi herself is a staunch supporter of president Ahmadinejad and his policies. Raja News is said to receive financial support from Iran’s Sepah (Revolutionary Guard Corps).
Ehsan Salehi is the editor in chief of Raja News. Meysam Nili, who in 2005 and 2009 was one of the leaders of President Ahmadinejad’s election committee, was later appointed as the managing director of Raja News. Both Salehi and Nili were summoned to court after Larijani complained about claims that Raja News made against him.
